빌립보서 1장 20,21절 그리스도인의 삶의 이유?

빌 1;20,21 나의 간절한 기대와 소망을 따라 아무 일에든지 부끄러워하지 아니하고 지금도 전과 같이 온전히 담대하여 살든지 죽든지 내 몸에서 그리스도가 존귀하게 되게 하려 하나니 이는 내게 사는 것이 그리스도니 죽는 것도 유익함이라

 

그리스도인의 삶의 이유는

첫째, 오직 예수이다.

'살든지 죽든지'라고 고백했던 바울은 이전의 자신은 죽었고 오직 주님만이 존귀하게 되기를 원했다.

그리고 아무 일에든지 부끄러워 아니하고 담대함으로 예수님만 존귀하게 되기를 원했다.

특별히 그는 복음으로 말미암아 로마의 감옥에 투옥된 그의 현재의 처지를 전혀 부끄럽게 여기지 않았다.

 

둘째, 초지일관했다.

감옥에 감금된 상태의 자유롭지 못한 상황임에도 '지금도 전과 같이' 믿음이 약해지지 않기를 원했다.

자신의 투옥과 배척 등 외적인 환경을 중요시하지 않은 바울의 간곡한 소망은 다른데 있었다.

바울은 그가 어떠한 상황에 처하게 되든지 그를 통하여 오직 그리스도의 복음이 증거 되고 또한 그리스도께서 존귀케 되기만을 원했다

 

 '이는 내게 사는 것이 그리스도니'

바울은 어떤 상황에서도 그리스도 중심의 신앙을 지키고 그리스도를 위한 기쁨의 봉사를 계속할 것임을 강조하고 있는 것이다

예수가 그의 행동의 동기요, 힘이요, 목적이요, 또한 그의 생각이요, 이상이요, 전부라는 말로 그의 삶 자체가 그리스도라는 말이다.

바울의 삶은 결코 자기를 위한 삶이 아니었으며, 자연히 그리스도와 그의 복음을 위한 삶이었던 것이다. 

죽는 것도 유익함이니라. 

바울은 자신이 순교한다면, 자기의 죽음으로 복음이 진보되고 그리스도가 영화롭게 될 것을 알았다.

바울 자신에게도 죽음의 결과 그리스도와 함께 있게 될 것이므로 유익이 될 것이라 했다.

 

예수가 우리 삶의 이유와 목적이 되길 소망한다.

 

 

The reason for the Christian life

First, only Jesus.
Paul, who confessed, 'either live or die', wanted only the Lord to be exalted as his former self was dead.
And he was not ashamed of anything and wanted only Jesus to be honored with boldness.
In particular, he was not at all ashamed of his present position in prison in Rome for the sake of the gospel.

 

Second, it was consistent.

Despite the unfree situation of being confined in prison, I wanted my faith not to weaken 'now as before'.
Paul's earnest hope, which did not give importance to the external environment, such as his own imprisonment and rejection, was elsewhere.
No matter what situation Paul finds himself in, he only wanted the gospel of Christ to be testified and Christ to be honored through him.

 

The one who lives in me is Christ.

Paul is emphasizing that he will keep his Christ-centered faith and continue his joyful service for Christ under any circumstances.

By saying that Jesus is the motive, strength, and purpose of his actions, and also his thoughts, ideals, and everything, his life itself is Christ.

Paul's life was never for himself; it was naturally for Christ and his gospel.

To die is gain.

Paul knew that if he was martyred, his own death would advance the gospel and glorify Christ.Paul himself also said that the result of death would be beneficial because he would be with Christ.

We hope that Jesus will be the reason and purpose of our lives.
